Chesnok Red is a Purple Stripe hard-neck garlic. This cultivar originated from the Republic of Georgia. This garlic has bright purple streaks and patches on the bulbs and contains 9–10 easy-to-peel cloves with purple-striped skins. Chesnok Red has a sweet garlic flavor,, especially when roasted, imparting garlicky sweetness to cooked dishes, without overwhelming heat.

This variety keeps well through April when stored properly.
